100% Smoke-Free Campus

“100% Smoke-Free Campus” Policy Implemented at Our University as of July 1, 2026

Our University has implemented the “100% Smoke-Free Campus” policy with the aim of promoting a culture of healthy living, supporting environmental sustainability, and providing a safer living environment for all its stakeholders.

In accordance with Law No. 4207 on the Prevention and Control of the Harmful Effects of Tobacco Products, the decision adopted at the meeting of the University Senate dated October 16, 2025, and numbered 2025/14, and the Smoke-Free Campus Implementation Guide prepared in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Council of Higher Education, and the Turkish Green Crescent Society, the “100% Smoke-Free Campus” policy came into effect across all University campuses as of July 1, 2026.

Under this policy, the use of cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco products, hookahs, and all other products classified as tobacco products is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor areas of the University’s campuses.

The “100% Smoke-Free Campus” policy aims to reduce tobacco use, prevent exposure to second-hand smoke, promote healthy lifestyle habits, and create a healthier campus environment for all students, employees, and visitors.

To ensure the effective implementation of the policy, the necessary awareness and information activities will be carried out across our campuses. Announcements will also be shared through the University’s websites, social media accounts, and other digital communication channels. In addition, newly enrolled students, newly appointed staff members, and visitors will be informed about the policy.

In line with its goal of creating a “Healthy, Clean, and Safe Campus,” our University invites all students, employees, and visitors to support the “100% Smoke-Free Campus” policy.
