Maritime Faculty Visits Çelebi Bandırma Port
As the Maritime Faculty of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, we paid a visit to Çelebi Bandırma International Port Management Inc., one of the prominent organizations in the regional maritime sector.
During the visit, the delegation met with Gürkan BAYIR, General Manager of Çelebi Bandırma International Port Management Inc., and exchanged views on opportunities for strengthening university-industry collaboration.
The meeting focused on several areas, including industry expectations from maritime education, the development of education and training curricula in line with sectoral needs, expanding opportunities for students’ professional development, internship and practical training opportunities, strengthening academia-industry interaction, and potential joint activities in the future. Current developments in port management and the maritime sector’s need for qualified human resources were also discussed.
The visit was attended by Prof. Dr. Alper KILIÇ, Dean of the Maritime Faculty; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ramazan ŞENER, Vice Dean; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrah AKDAMAR, Head of the Department of Maritime Business Administration; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sedat BAŞTUĞ, faculty member of the Department of Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering; and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ömür KIZILGÖL, faculty member of the Department of Maritime Business Administration.
As the Maritime Faculty, we attach great importance to strengthening collaborations that bring academic knowledge together with industry experience, contribute to the professional development of our students, and support the advancement of the regional maritime ecosystem.
