As the Maritime Faculty of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, we are deeply saddened by the unfortunate accident between the ships "Tuğberk İmamoğlu" and "Alsu" off the coast of Silivri.

We hope that the search and rescue operations rapidly initiated in the region will yield positive results as soon as possible and that our seafarers will be reached safely. We wish Allah's mercy upon our seafarers who lost their lives in this tragic incident, extend our condolences to their grieving families, wish a speedy recovery to the injured, and convey our sympathies to the crews of both ships.

This accident has once again demonstrated the vital importance of uncompromisingly applying navigational safety rules, which are the foundation of the safety of life and property in our seas. As an institution that trains the seafarers of the future, we emphasize that we will always place the safety culture at our core, and we hope that similar accidents will never occur again.
